Evan and I only won one medal because they only gave medals to 15th and better, but I don't compete for medals. I compete for the fun of it . There were 51 competitors in each level. Evan and I are in different levels so we don't compete against each other. Olympia Hills also won 2nd place team in level 5, 4th place team in level 4, 7-8 yo.

Here is a video of Evan's 7th place performance on Pommel Horse.

Here is a video of Cole's 13th place routine on Parallel Bars.

Our next meet is in Boerne on February 2nd.

Just Somthin' Cool

I recently finished a book about the building of the first Ferris Wheel for the world fair in Chicago. Our next San Antonio Young People's Symphony was is the ninth symphony of Antonin Dvorak so we were studying him and his music and learned that Antonin Dvorak went to the world fair that year.
Pretty cool if you ask me.

A Day At The Fair

10:30 a.m.

On Sunday we went to the Texas State Fair in Dallas. I can't cover everything (we did quite a bit) but here are a few pictures(the times will be on the top).

                                                                                                  10:45
There was a row of tractors at the front that you climb up .
Here I am on the biggest one.

11:10 a.m.
If you compare the hog to the girl behind him you could
probably guess he is the biggest hog in the state of Texas! (Or
maybe not because he does not look very big in that picture!)

                             11:30 a.m.
We watched a demo of milking a cow

11:45 a.m.
That is a pretty tall horse if it is taller than Dad!

There was a dog show in here but there are no pictures.

2:00 p.m.
BMX bike show, look close and you'll find he's no hands.

THERE'S THE FERRIS WHEEL!

They say you can see forty miles from the top of the Ferris wheel and
this is just half way.

3:15

        3:30

4:00
This is Evan testing the speed of his fastball at the Chevrolet town square.
Mine was 42 MPH, Evan's was 35 MPH, and Dad's was 60 MPH.

4:00
Xavier rode some pedal cars that as you might can see we
were too big to ride.

                                                                         4:30
It seemed like we waited forever for the ride to start
    4:35
We are the seats farthest away from the camera

4:40

Big Tex, The Alamo, and The San Jacinto
Monument all made out of trees and plants
                                                   4:40
Xavier thought the trains were awsome!
                                                            4:40
Where is it???!
                                                          4:40
There it is!

                                                                                                5:00
Mom and Xavier rode the Carousel but the rest of us
didn't.

5:10
Poor Mom was the only one who didn't ride the roller coaster.
Though Xavier did say "I only like the flat and turns NOT the
ups and downs!"

 5:15
Finishing up.

5:30
Evan wanted to ride a ride that fliped you up side down but he was not
tall enough so he settled with this one.
                                                                5:35
Ridin' the viper!

                                                              7:20
The U.S. Marine band.
Another float in the parade.
