Xavier - Baseball - 2014

X
Xavier's Coach Pitch team had a tie Thursday night and today.  In both games, Xavier was the lead-off batter.  There were "exhibition" games, which don't count against the season record, last Saturday.  Xavier was very excited that on Thursday "the scoreboard was turned on".

Above:  Cole's Rings routine from the Level 6 State Meet on Sunday, March 23.  He scored a 10.6 - his highest score ever.  Oh and he was in the urgent care clinic taking IV antibiotics on Saturday for a sinus infection. And he took a dose of ibuprofen about 15 minutes before this routine because of returning fever- which probably explains his worst ever score two events before this.  Thankfully, his rotation had high bar, one of his strongest events, as the second event while he was still fresh.   He has been working hard toward a 10.0 this season and his H-bar routine here was his second 10.

Evan - Baseball- 2014

Pitching, catching, scoring:  Evan does it all.  Today's opposing coach even pointed out to his team "That's a good catcher," loud enough for me to hear from our bleachers.

Metroplex Medals & Longhorn Love

This is one of the awesome Texas shaped
medals that I won at the Metroplex meet.

The weekend of Valentine's day we drove to Fort Worth so that I could compete at the Metroplex meet. While we were there, we went to the Fort Worth Stockyards to look around and watch the daily cattle drive.

This is a picture of me at the beginning of my fifth place high bar routine.

On this rings routine I actually tied my teammate for eighth place.

Warm up on pommel.

Competition on Pommel!!

This is a picture of Xavier trying not to have his taken at the stock yards. That little stinker!!!

The day before the meet, Valentine's day, we went out to watch the daily cattle drives at the Fort Worth Stockyards.

Brrrr!

Niagara Falls partially froze over in January 2014 as you can see in this picture by Aaron Harris published by Reuters.  (BTW, I understand that a few pictures circulating the internet are not authentic and/or not from 2014.)
Below is a picture from our summer trip with some of us down on that same fenced area that you can see in the top right of the first picture.  Look for the bright orange shirt in the middle of the picture.  That's Evan with his brothers and dad behind him.
